Tottenham make another move for attacker who is in ‘direct talks’ to leave

Ferran Torres in action for Spain

We’re tired of writing about Tottenham’s pursuit of Eli Junior Kroupi, Savinho and, more recently, Cody Gakpo.

And slowly, the rumour mill has ensured that another name is going to fall into that category: Spain’s 2026 FIFA World Cup hero Ferran Torres.

Last week, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Torres is in ‘direct talks’ to sign for PSG if he decides to leave Barcelona this summer.

The Spaniard’s future remains the talk of the town as he has less than a year remaining on his current deal.

And now, TEAMtalk report that the Lilywhites have made another play to secure his signature, with the player also attracting interest from Arsenal.

Tottenham make ‘fresh contact’ for Ferran Torres

According to the aforementioned report, Tottenham have made ‘fresh contact’ with Torres and his agents despite knowing that he is set for a move to PSG.

This is a sign that they are really interested in the player and could well decide to make a move if a deal to take him to the French capital falls through.

Yesterday, Torres spoke candidly about his future and kept the door open to a transfer, although he wasn’t opposed to staying at Barcelona either.

“My future? I have a contract with Barcelona, but in football you never know. I’m waiting to make the right decision,” said Torres to NBC via Fabrizio Romano.

“I don’t know, I don’t know yet. Is there a dream club? Yes. Which one? I just want to be happy.”

Torres could be the versatile attacker De Zerbi is crying out for. And judging by all the reporting, the Lilywhites aren’t ready to give up on him just yet.
