The Cristian Romero transfer saga continues to ramble on with no resolution in sight.
Over the past year, the Argentine defender has divided opinion among the Lilywhites faithful due to his performances and off-field conduct.
Last week, Roberto De Zerbi confirmed that Romero asked to leave the club, which is something the fans have known for a while now.
Another update has emerged from journalist Henry Winter, who made a claim that will irk the Tottenham faithful.

Inter Milan are locked in talks to sign Romero and the deal is expected to be finalised in the coming weeks.
Tottenham have already signed his replacements, with Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi joining the club in the summer transfer window.
Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast, Winter says Romero is mentally checked out, suggesting that a transfer is the best solution for all parties involved.
“It sounds like, emotionally and mentally, Christian Romero has moved on from Tottenham Hotspur,” said Winter.
We’re not discounting what Romero did for the club, especially when Tottenham won the UEFA Europa League under Ange Postecoglou.
However, his career at the club has drawn to a sad climax as he missed the back end of last season due to injury, while his alleged ‘Argentina over Tottenham’ stance has never sat well with the Lilywhites faithful.
The earlier Tottenham do a deal with Inter Milan, the better. Case closed.
