Tottenham Hotspur are flying high on and off the pitch as they made it four wins from four in pre-season with a 2-1 win against Chelsea.
The game didn’t have a pre-season feel to it at all and was supremely competitive as a contest.
Sandro Tonali broke the deadlock with a deflected effort to register his first goal for the club, but Estevao Willian restored parity for the Blues four minutes later after some poor defending from Tottenham.
The second half also had its fair share of drama as Kevin Danso was sent off less than three minutes after coming on due to a cynical last-man foul.
And just when it looked like the game would end all square, Richarlison scored the winning goal in stoppage time to secure a fantastic win.
It wasn’t any of the goalscorers who got all the praise on social media, though.
Tottenham fans rave about Mathys Tel and Antonin Kinsky
Mathys Tel scored a sensational free-kick against Sydney FC and was in the thick of the action once again.
The Frenchman was a breath of fresh air in attack and really showed his class from the left flank as he took players on and ran at goal.
Tottenham fans described him as their best player during pre-season as they showered him with a lot of praise on social media.
@Mastrigt_ wrote, “If you don’t see it with Tel, I’m so sorry for you,” while @SpursNetic added, “Like genuinely, people will come up with anything to downplay what he does, like they are genuinely stupid.”
There was also a lot of praise for Antonin Kinsky, who made a stunning late save to deny Estevao from close range.
@oJaayCo summed up everyone else’s thoughts: “We have got to have a serious conversation about this lad’s mentality and ability since Atletico.”
