Inter set 10-day deadline to sign Tottenham captain

Cristian Romero’s potential transfer to Inter Milan transfer could be decided within the next 10 days after Tottenham softened their position.

Inter want a permanent agreement worth around €40million, with payments deferred across the deal.

Tottenham had previously valued their captain at €50million. However, reports in Italy now suggest Spurs could accept a lower package to complete his departure.

Romero is also open to returning to Serie A. His representative travelled to Milan on Friday as Inter continued discussions over personal terms and the proposed transfer structure.

According to Sport Witness, citing FCInterNews, Inter have ruled out an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

The Italian champions instead want to sign Romero permanently for €40million. They hope Tottenham will accept deferred payments rather than demand the full fee immediately.

Inter want an answer within 10 days. They could move towards alternative defensive targets if Tottenham reject the proposed structure.

Sky Sports has also confirmed that Inter are pursuing Romero and that Tottenham would consider his departure for the right offer. The Argentina international remains under contract until 2029.

Spurs have already added Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi to Roberto De Zerbi’s defensive options. Their arrivals would leave the squad better prepared for Romero’s potential exit.

A Cristian Romero to Inter Milan transfer is not yet complete. The next 10 days could determine whether Tottenham accept the €40million proposal or keep their captain.
