At a glance:
- Tottenham set to host Leeds tonight
- Both sides are missing key players
- 12 players could be unavailable for the game
Tottenham Hotspur will host Leeds United in a crucial Premier League clash on Monday, May 11.
West Ham United’s defeat against Arsenal on Sunday confirmed Leeds’ safety in the Premier League this season. However, Spurs’ future is still hanging in the balance, as they sit just one point above the Hammers.
A win against Leeds will put them four points above the drop zone with just two games remaining. Hence, it is a crucial clash for them, but they will be without some key players on Monday.
Tottenham’s injury report ahead of Leeds clash
The north London side continue to deal with a major injury crisis for yet another season. In a rare occurrence, they came out of the Aston Villa clash last week without any new injuries. However, they are still without eight players for the Leeds game.
Cristian Romero, Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus, and Ben Davies remain out. They will not feature for the rest of the season due to their respective long-term injuries. Roberto De Zerbi hinted that Dejan Kulusevski will also not feature again this season.
Meanwhile, Guglielmo Vicario is still unavailable after undergoing hernia surgery in March. He was initially expected to return last month but hasn’t returned to team training yet. His return date is unclear.
Dominic Solanke, on the other hand, is also out for the Leeds game after suffering a hamstring injury against Wolves last month. However, De Zerbi said that Solanke could return against Chelsea on May 19.

Moreover, James Maddison’s situation remains a mystery. The Englishman has been in Tottenham’s squad for the last three games but hasn’t featured. He could, however, get some minutes against Leeds.
Leeds are missing 3 players, while one is a doubt
The Peacocks are dealing with injury issues of their own ahead of their game against Tottenham. First of all, their head coach, Daniel Farke, was unwell on Friday, so his assistant, Eddie Riemer, took the press conference. Farke is expected to be on the touchline on Monday.
Riemer confirmed that Ilia Gruev is out for the season, having suffered a meniscus knee injury last month. Meanwhile, Noah Okafor and Gabriel Gudmunsson are also confirmed unavailable for the Spurs clash due to a calf and hamstring injury, respectively.
Riemer also said that Pascal Struijk is in doubt for the Tottenham game. He said that while the defender returned to team training on Friday, they will assess his full fitness ahead of the game.
