  • Cambiaso clearly highly rated

Tottenham are expected to make a handful of changes to their squad in the summer transfer window under Roberto De Zerbi.

The Italian has signed a five-year deal at the club and is expected to be given full control over transfers and squad planning, with a new sporting director also set to arrive.

Tottenham have already agreed deals for Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, although the deals hinge on whether they avoid relegation.

And now, if reports are to be believed, De Zerbi is set to turn to Serie A to sign a player whom former Tottenham boss Igor Tudor knows quite well.

Tottenham want Andrea Cambiaso

The Italian knows Serie A quite well due to his previous stints with Benevento and Sassuolo.

As for Tudor, he joined Tottenham after a tumultuous stint with Juventus, where he also had his fair share of positives.

One of them was Andrea Cambiaso. According to Tutto Juve, Tottenham are interested in signing the Italian full-back, who is also wanted by Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter Mila, Napoli, Manchester City and Liverpool.

The aforementioned clubs are believed to have ‘inquired’ in recent weeks, which is a sign that exploratory talks have happened.

In an interview with Gianluca di Marzio in September 2025, Tudor claimed Cambiaso is good enough to play for some of the biggest clubs in the world.

“Potentially, he [Cambiaso] is a player who can go to the best clubs in the world,” said Tudor.

“If he wanted, he could play in Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.”

And now, that looks like a possibility, with a handful of European giants keeping tabs on him.

Cambiaso not a necessity for Tottenham

Primarily a full-back, Cambiaso has been a regular for Juventus and also recently represented Italy under Gennaro Gattuso.

He is capable of playing on both flanks, making him an intriguing option.

However, Tottenham already have multiple options at full-back, with Pedro Porro, Djed Spence, Destiny Udogie, Souza and Ben Davies all at the club currently.

Robertson could also join, as we mentioned earlier, so Tottenham would be better off using their funds elsewhere.

However, if they do decide to make a move for Cambiaso, maybe they can pick up the phone and have a word or two with Tudor, who knows the player quite well.
