Tottenham Hotspur are facing the possibility of a major rebuild in the summer, regardless of their Premier League status.
With just three games remaining, they are 17th, just one point above the drop zone. However, even if they can avoid relegation, many of their players are expected to leave after two poor seasons in the Premier League.
Among the leading candidates to leave are the likes of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, who have many suitors across Europe.
Manchester United are interested in Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven
With Spurs having back-to-back lowly finishes in the Premier League, many of their big-name stars have been linked away.
Van de Ven appears set to leave Tottenham this summer. He is also garnering interest from across Europe, including Manchester United.
According to Boy Hotspur, the Red Devils are preparing around £55–60 million to make a potential bid for the Dutch defender.
They will compete in the UEFA Champions League next season and are looking to strengthen their side. Van de Ven now has three years of experience in English football, having joined Spurs from Wolfsburg in 2024 for around £43 million.
In an episode of the Stick To Football podcast, Ange Postecoglou lauded Van de Ven, saying:
“He is technically good. His ability to cover ground, though, is just phenomenal, mate. You would set him up. A lot of teams like to go man for man now. You would set him up against any striker in the world without any fear that he would get outmuscled and definitely not outrun. He has got a top mentality too.”

Liverpool were previously interested in Van de Ven
Postecoglou also revealed that Liverpool were interested in Van de Ven before he joined Tottenham. However, he spoke to the defender’s father and assured him that the 25-year-old will get regular playing time at Spurs. Hence, he joined the north London side.
Liverpool reportedly still retain their interest in the Dutchman, especially as they look for Virgil van Dijk’s successor. Hence, they could potentially compete with arch-rivals Manchester United for Van de Ven’s signature. His contract at Spurs expires in 2029.
