At a glance:

  • Tottenham interested in Noah Sadiki
  • Chelsea and Manchester United also monitoring
  • Sadiki performed well against Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League status hangs in the balance with just four games remaining for them this season.

At the time of writing, Spurs are in the drop zone, above Burnley and Wolves, who have already been relegated. The north London side are battling West Ham and Nottingham Forest to avoid being the third relegated team this season.

Regardless of the final result, though, Tottenham are expected to make major changes to their squad in the summer. One of the key areas for improvement for them is the midfield.

Tottenham interested in signing Noah Sadiki

Spurs currently have multiple midfielders of a similar profile.

Moreover, Pape Matar Sarr has been linked with an exit this summer, while Yves Bissouma could leave as a free agent. Hence, Tottenham are looking to strengthen their midfield.

According to Caught Offside, the north London side have a long-standing interest in Sadiki, which they retain ahead of the summer transfer window. The 21-year-old has impressed since joining Sunderland from Union Saint-Gilloise last summer. He has made 32 appearances for them across competitions.

Sadiki can play in multiple positions in midfield, as highlighted by Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris, who told the club’s media about him:

“What stood out immediately was his composure on the ball, his ability to manage rhythm, and the maturity in his decision-making. That level of experience at such a young age is rare.”

“He can operate as a holding midfielder, as part of a double pivot, or even in slightly different roles. Our team can benefit from having different players with different qualities, and that’s definitely one of his strengths.”

Tottenham saw Sadiki’s abilities first-hand in their 1-0 defeat against Sunderland last month. He got a good 7.1 rating on SofaScore. His stats from the game make for interesting reading:

  • 30/39 passes completed
  • 5/8 duels won
  • 2/2 dribbles completed
  • 2 key passes
  • 1 shot

Tottenham will have to compete with multiple clubs for Sadiki

The Congo international’s performances have put him on the radar of multiple Premier League clubs. While Manchester United have sent scouts to see him, Chelsea have already made contact with his representatives.

They are looking for a potential replacement for Enzo Fernandez.

Arsenal and Everton are also among the clubs monitoring his situation. However, Sunderland are unwilling to let Sadiki leave, with his contract expiring in 2030. It would take a bid of around €60 million for them to even consider a potential sale.

While he is just 21, Sadiki’s intelligence and ability could be a game-changer for Tottenham. However, they also have Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall in their squad. Moreover, any potential deal will hinge on whether they avoid relegation.
