At a glance:

  • Igor Thiago scores vs West Ham
  • Brazilian linked with Tottenham
  • Spurs can leapfrog Hammers tomorrow

Tottenham aren’t playing today, but all eyes were on Brentford as they secured a 3-0 win against West Ham United, with Igor Thiago scoring again.

The result is a Hammer blow for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side as a positive result would have steered them further clear of the relegation zone.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side can leapfrog West Ham with a win against Aston Villa, with Brentford’s helping hand.

And their 3-0 win also saw Thiago get his name on the scoresheet, who has been linked with a move to North London.

Igor Thiago helping hand for Tottenham

The Brazilian has been one of the breakout stars of the Premier League season and has quickly become one of the most reliable goal scorers in England.

Carlo Ancelotti even called him up to the Brazil squad earlier this year, which is a sign that the legendary coach is keeping an eye on him ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Thiago has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer, although the deal hinges on whether or not they avoid relegation.

And with a goal, his contribution turned out to be more than a helping hand for the North London outfit as the Bees romped to a 3-0 win at home.

Thiago a good fit for Tottenham

After making a name for himself with Cruzeiro in Brazil, Thiago secured a move to Ludogorets in Bulgaria and continued to bang in the goals.

He joined Brentford after a solitary season in Belgium with Club Brugge and it’s been more of the same since.

Thiago has 22 Premier League goals to his name, which is an unbelievable record for a striker playing his first season in England.

Tottenham need a reliable goalscorer and could do well with someone like the Brazilian, especially with Richarlison and Dominic Solanke blowing hot and cold this season.

Brentford boss Keith Andrews feels Thiago is a special player who will only get better. Chelsea are also interested in the striker, so Tottenham won’t be alone in their pursuit.

The Brazilian has given them a big boost by delivering a hammer blow to West Ham’s survival hopes. And now, it’s up to Tottenham to stand up and make it count at Villa Park tomorrow.
