At a glance:
- Guglielmo Vicario reaches full agreement with Inter Milan
- Italian set to return to Serie A
- Tottenham goalkeeper could return for Villa clash
Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has blown hot and cold this season and is currently working his way back after hernia surgery.
In his absence, Antonin Kinsky has fared quite well, with the Czech international making a top save in the closing embers vs Wolves.
Vicario is close to returning to action and could well feature in the Premier League clash against Aston Villa.
And now, if reports from Italy are to be believed, he has taken a massive step towards leaving Tottenham.
Vicario has full agreement with Inter Milan
Inter Milan’s interest in Vicario is well-documented as the goalkeeper continues to be linked with a Tottenham departure, whether or not they stay up.
Gazzetta claim that he has a full agreement with the Serie A side over personal terms. Inter tried to sign him before his move to North London and could finally be set to land their man, albeit three years later.

Vicario hasn’t been at his best this season. However, he is a big character and did really well during his first two seasons at the club, playing a key role in the UEFA Europa League triumph last season.
The report also states that a fee is yet to be agreed between Inter and Tottenham. That could well depend on their Premier League status, with the Serie A side hoping to do a bargain deal if they drop down to the Championship.
Tottenham’s goalkeeping shortlist
Kinsky has redeemed himself and will surely remain at the club, at least as a second-choice option.

Tottenham have been with a host of goalkeepers and will have to identify the perfect candidate to replace Vicario. Some of the names linked in recent weeks are as follows:
- James Trafford (Manchester City)
- Robin Roefs (Sunderland)
- Bart Verbruggen (Brighton)
- Noah Atubolu (Freiburg)
- Lucas Chevalier (PSG)
- Robin Risser (Lens)
Verbruggen could be the one for Tottenham, especially due to his pre-existing relationship with De Zerbi.
The Italian likes his goalkeepers to be good with the ball at their feet, so that will be a key attribute to look out for.
Vicario has served Tottenham well and they will likely recoup the fee they paid to Empoli three years ago.
However, they need to get his replacement absolutely bang on the money as their transfers have been a mixed bag, to say the least, in recent seasons.
