Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to undergo a major squad revamp in the summer, especially if they stay in the Premier League.
They are in the relegation zone, with five games remaining, and clearly need a rebuild. Moreover, with no European football and disappointing decisions from the board, some players are likely to leave.
Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario, and Pape Matar Sarr have all been linked with moves away.
Meanwhile, many clubs are monitoring Tottenham players for a potential summer swoop, especially if they get relegated. One of them is Conor Gallagher.
Everton interested in signing Gallagher from Tottenham
The Toffees are 10th in the Premier League standings after 33 games, but just one point behind sixth-placed Chelsea. Hence, they could still qualify for the Europa League or the Europa Conference League next season.
Everton could look for some big incomings in the summer. As per Football Insider, one of the targets they have identified is Gallagher.
They are “big admirers” of the midfielder and are looking for a potential loan move with an obligation to buy for the summer. They have a limited budget and must comply with it.
Gallagher joined Tottenham in January from Atletico Madrid. He has made 13 appearances for them, but failed to impress even once.
Moreover, Spurs already have a few midfielders of a similar profile. Hence, Tottenham are open to selling Gallagher this summer.

They signed him for £35 million as he returned to the Premier League earlier this year.
With his contract expiring in 2031, they will certainly look to recover their investment at least. Moreover, Aston Villa, who almost signed him before Spurs in January, retain interest in Gallagher.
Crystal Palace, where he had a decent loan spell in the 2021-22 season, are also monitoring his situation.
Roberto De Zerbi appears to be a big fan of Gallagher
While he hasn’t performed well for Tottenham, Roberto De Zerbi appears to like Gallagher. He has started the Englishman in both his games at the club in different roles.
The midfielder showed a slight improvement against Brighton as well, but failed to make a big impact.
De Zerbi urged Gallagher to return to his Chelsea form in his first press conference. He also praised him multiple times for his energy and influence in the attacking third. This suggests that he might not be too willing to part ways with the midfielder.

However, Tottenham have better midfielders than Gallagher in their squad who can perform a similar role, like Pape Matar Sarr and Lucas Bergvall.
They also need to make space for some highly technical pass-first midfielders. Hence, it would be wise for the club to cut their losses on the England international this summer.
