Tottenham’s 100 days of misery: 5 catastrophic moments from ongoing Premier League winless run

April 7, 2026, marked 100 days since Tottenham last won a Premier League game, which came on December 28 last year.

Tottenham beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park on December 28, 2025. It was a drab performance as well, but Archie Gray scored in the 42nd minute to secure a much-needed victory. Since then, Spurs have played 13 Premier League games without managing a win.

Since their last league win, the north London side have had three managers – Thomas Frank, Igor Tudor, and now Roberto De Zerbi. While all 100 days have largely been full of misery for Tottenham fans, some of them have hurt more than others.

5 catastrophic moments for Tottenham since their last PL win

Spurs sacked Frank in February and replaced him with Tudor on an interim basis. They also parted ways with the Croatian last month and have now appointed De Zerbi. The two former managers saw some terrible moments at the club, like the following:

  1. Mohammed Kudus injury

Tottenham announced Brennan Johnson’s move to Crystal Palace on January 2. One day later, Mohammed Kudus suffered a hamstring injury in the 19th minute of their clash against Sunderland.

Kudus has the fourth-most dribbles in the Premier League this season despite being out for over three months. He has also provided six assists, the highest for Spurs this season. Moreover, with Wilson Odobert also suffering an ACL injury in February, Spurs haven’t had a right winger in months.

Hence, it’s not controversial to say that Tottenham have missed Kudus massively. His potential return is crucial for their chances of avoiding relegation.

  1. Defeat against West Ham

While they were hurtling down the table, many Tottenham fans were still unconvinced that relegation was a real threat until the New Year. However, it changed on January 17 when they lost 2-1 against relegation rivals West Ham at home after a terrible performance.

Not only did it mean another loss for Spurs, but it also instilled a belief in the Hammers. West Ham were winless in 10 league games before facing Tottenham. Since beating them, the Hammers have three wins, three draws, and three defeats in nine games.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are one point below Spurs but certainly seem to have the momentum on their side.

  1. The January transfer window

Now, there are many on-pitch catastrophic events to choose from in the last 100 days. However, one of the biggest embarrassments for the club was the January transfer window. It is arguably the primary reason why Spurs are in the relegation battle with seven games remaining.

Tottenham were facing an injury crisis and had also lost Kudus on January 4. They also sold Johnson, but failed to replace him. They only signed Conor Gallagher, who has failed to impress, and Souza, who is a 19-year-old left-back.

Sporting Director Johan Lange and Chief Executive Vinai Venkatesham later stated that they felt they didn’t want to panic in January. However, players like Ademola Lookman, Rayan, and Oscar Bobb all moved to different clubs in January, and they would’ve certainly helped Tottenham.

  1. Micky van de Ven’s red card against Crystal Palace

The north London side were desperate for points when they welcomed Crystal Palace at home on March 6. By this time, Tottenham had sacked Frank and appointed Tudor, who had lost his first two games against Arsenal and Fulham.

However, there was a belief that this was a winnable game, and Dominic Solanke also opened the scoring in the 34th minute. However, four minutes later, Van de Ven pulled Ismaila Sarr as the last man and was sent off. Palace scored from the resulting penalty and added two more goals before halftime.

That defeat came as a major blow for Spurs, as it was one of the rare few fixtures that appeared winnable on paper. It also majorly affected the belief of avoiding relegation in the fanbase.

  1. The Nottingham embarrassment

Tottenham finally got their first points in the Premier League under Tudor after five games as they held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw on March 15. They then beat Atletico Madrid at home in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg, but got eliminated on aggregate.

However, both performances provided some optimism, leading to a huge fan movement of “All Together, Always”. Fan groups joined hands to spread the message, players responded on social media, and fans came out on the streets in large numbers to support them ahead of the home game against Nottingham.

However, as often has been the case with Spurs this season, it ended in total embarrassment. After a decent first half, Spurs crumbled and lost 3-0 against Forest for the second time this season. Vitor Pereira’s side also jumped above them in the Premier League standings with two more points.

Tottenham desperately need multiple good moments in remaining 7 games

This list only mentions a few moments from Tottenham’s last 100 days. There were many other moments like Cristian Romero’s red card against Manchester United or their FA Cup exit against Aston Villa.

Moreover, the entire season has been full of miserable moments, like creating the lowest xG record against Arsenal and Chelsea.

With seven games remaining, Spurs cannot afford more such moments. A suspension due to a red card, injuries to key players, or just bad decision-making could be catastrophic for the club.

Moreover, just one or two good moments or wins wouldn’t be enough to save them from relegation either. Ideally, they need three wins in their remaining seven games to stay up, depending on their rivals.

Tottenham appear to have a figment of hope after the arrival of De Zerbi, with players impressed with the Italian’s training methods.

However, it would only turn into something tangible if he could win his first game in charge. The north London side will face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on April 12. Simply put, Spurs need to take all three points and gain some momentum.
