Tottenham Hotspur have certainly missed Mohammed Kudus in recent months. They have gone over 100 days without winning a domestic game.
What seemed like a mere argument is now a reality. Tottenham sit just one point above West Ham and have just seven games to ensure their presence in the Premier League next season. Spurs’ situation comes as a big shock, as they do have some brilliant players in their squad.
However, the north London side has had to deal with a major injury crisis this season as well. One of the key players they have missed since January is Kudus.
Kudus has been excellent for Tottenham under tough circumstances
Tottenham surprisingly signed Kudus from rivals West Ham for £55 million last summer. Notably, they had also scouted him during his time at Ajax before he joined the Hammers in 2023.

Kudus has scored two goals and provided six assists in 19 Premier League games for Spurs. He is just two assists behind second place and 10 behind the leader, Bruno Fernandes.
However, the most impressive stat about Kudus is his dribbling rate. As per StatMuse, the Ghana international is fourth on the list of most dribbles completed in the Premier League this season with 51. Jeremy Doku leads the chart with 59, Yankuba Minteh is second with 55, and Illiman Ndiaye follows him with 54.
It’s important to note that Kudus last played a game on January 4. He started at home against Sunderland before being subbed off in the 19th minute due to a hamstring injury.
Before the international break, Igor Tudor had said that Kudus could return in 10 days. Hence, he could potentially feature in their clash against Sunderland on April 12.
Kudus’ return will help Tottenham in two ways
Kudus is an incredible player, as depicted by the aforementioned stats. Despite being out for over three months, he has provided the most assists in the Premier League for Tottenham this season. Moreover, he is arguably the best dribbler in the squad.
His return will also help Roberto De Zerbi in one other way, i.e., provide a much-needed balance to Spurs’ attack. The north London side sold Brennan Johnson in January, and Kudus got injured a few days after that. Wilson Odobert then suffered an ACL injury in early February.
Tottenham haven’t had a natural right winger since then. While the likes of Randal Kolo Muani and Pedro Porro have operated in that position, they haven’t made a big impact.
Kudus’ return will help balance Spurs’ team and would also allow space for the likes of Mathys Tel and Xavi Simons in the attacking positions.
