Breaking: Tottenham and Igor Tudor part ways by mutual consent

Tottenham have officially announced that they have parted company with Igor Tudor, with a new manager set to be announced in due course.

The Croatian failed to win any of his five Premier League games in charge of the club, with his only positive result coming at Anfield when they held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw.

Tudor, however, spearheaded Tottenham to a creditable 3-2 win against Atletico Madrid, although they were knocked out on aggregate.

A few days later, they lost 3-0 to Nottingham Forest in a relegation six-pointer, a result that seemingly decided his fate.

Tudor dismal Tottenham stint ends

Tottenham are now just a point above the relegation zone and face an uphill battle to avoid relegation.

Tudor was expected to be sacked after the result against Forest, but things were complicated by the sad passing of his father, Mario, news of which reached him immediately after the full-time whistle.

Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci have also left their roles as Goalkeeping Coach and Physical Coach, respectively.

Tottenham said in a statement on X: “We can confirm that it has been mutually agreed for Head Coach Igor Tudor to leave the Club with immediate effect.

“Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci have also left their respective roles of Goalkeeping Coach and Physical Coach.

“We thank Igor, Tomislav and Riccardo for their efforts during the past six weeks, in which they worked tirelessly.

“We also acknowledge the bereavement that Igor has recently suffered and send our support to him and his family at this difficult time. An update on a new Head Coach will be provided in due course.”

Who could replace Tudor?

Firstly, Tudor has the sympathies of everyone related to Tottenham Football Club as he is currently grieving the loss of his father.

His stint at the club was by no means successful, but football and everything else is secondary during such times, so the mutual separation makes sense for all parties involved.

Roberto de Zerbi has been linked with a move to Tottenham, having left Marseille by mutual consent earlier this season.

However, it remains to be seen if he would willingly throw himself into a relegation battle.

Additionally, Tottenham fans called for the club to drop their pursuit of De Zerbi due to his support of Mason Greenwood, whom he publicly defended before his move to Marseille.

Sean Dyche has also been linked with a move to N17, with the Englishman’s experience in helping teams avoid the drop hailed as an important factor.

Tottenham next play in the Premier League on April 12th and will look to have a manager in place for their clash against Sunderland.
