Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a permanent manager is all set to intensify in the coming months.
Thomas Frank was replaced at the helm by Igor Tudor earlier this month, but the Croatian has only been tasked with steadying the ship until the end of the season.
The club will not give the former Juventus boss a chance to continue regardless of his results over the next few months; they clearly see him only as a stopgap solution.
Mauricio Pochettino and Roberto de Zerbi have been linked with Tottenham, with the former, in particular, having keen admirers at the club due to his previous stint at N17.
And now, the club has added another exciting name to their shortlist – a manager Dominic Solanke already knows from their successful Premier League partnership.
Tottenham keen on Andoni Iraola
Andoni Iraola was relatively unknown in England before moving to Bournemouth despite enjoying a fantastic spell with Rayo Vallecano in Spain.
However, in recent years, his reputation has soared as he continues to make a massive impression for the Cherries.
Currently in his third full season in the Premier League, Iraola’s contract expires in the summer, which could bode well for Tottenham.
GiveMeSport expect the North London outfit to approach Iraola in the coming months, as he has already decided to leave Bournemouth.
The Spaniard, however, needs convincing; he is watching how Tottenham sacked Thomas Frank just eight months after he left Brentford for N17.
The Solanke connect
Dominic Solanke signed for Tottenham in the summer of 2024 for a club-record fee believed to be in the region of £55m.
The England international got his big move after a fantastic season with Bournemouth under Iraola’s tutelage, scoring a career high 19 Premier League goals during the 2023-24 campaign.
Iraola spoke glowingly of Solanke in a FourFourTwo interview after the striker’s transfer to Tottenham.
He said, “There’s part of you as a coach where obviously you don’t want to lose him because your job becomes harder.

“But there’s a part of you that wants him to go to a higher level, to do well and get the recognition he deserves. Even though he plays for Spurs, we’re all still cheering for him and we’re glad he’s back in the national team.
“It’s a challenge for us all. We have to replace not just his goals but everything he gave to us with different kinds of players. Everyone has to contribute.”
If Iraola gets the job at Tottenham, Solanke will undoubtedly be a happy man as he enjoyed the best season of his professional career under the Spaniard.
