Tottenham Hotspur have endured a frantic spell on and off the pitch in 2026.
The North London club took emergency action in January with the additions of Conor Gallagher and Souza due to long-term injuries to key players.
Less than two weeks after the January transfer window slammed shut, Thomas Frank was sacked and Igor Tudor was appointed interim manager.
Another intriguing subplot in January was the links with Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, whose contract expires at the end of the current season.
And now, reports from England have confirmed whether Tottenham are still interested in signing the experienced Scotsman on a free transfer.
Tottenham not in the running for Robertson
After Milos Kerkez’s arrival in the summer, Robertson hasn’t featured as regularly as he’d liked for Liverpool.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, the left-back wanted regular game time under his belt, which led him to consider his future in January.

David Ornstein reported in January that Tottenham were in talks to secure his signature for a nominal fee. However, with Liverpool also struggling with injuries at the time, the move didn’t materialise.
Robertson, however, looks set to depart at the end of the season as the Reds have thus far shown no signs of offering him a new contract.
Caught Offside report that Atletico Madrid, Celtic, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are monitoring developments.
The important thing to note is that there is no mention of Tottenham, which is a sign that the North London outfit have decided to look elsewhere.
Robertson deal makes no sense for Tottenham
The Scotland captain is a legendary figure in the Premier League, but at this stage of his career, it’s a move that never made sense from a Tottenham perspective.
Heavy workload at Liverpool have sapped Robertson’s once-limitless energy in recent seasons.

Additionally, Tottenham already have Destiny Udogie and Souza at the club, although the former is currently out with a hamstring injury.
Ben Davies is another left-back option for the club, but the Welshman underwent surgery earlier after suffering an ankle injury.
With his contract set to expire this summer, it remains likely that he has already played his last game for the club, drawing his creditable career at the club to a sad climax.
