Erik Lamela has spoken of his desire for Champions League football to return to White Hart Lane, as Spurs close in on a top 4 place whilst also having advanced to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
Lamela, who is enjoying his best season in a Tottenham shirt since joining for a club record £30 million in the summer of 2013, scored a hat-trick against Monaco on Thursday night and has spoken about his desire of Champions League football returning to Tottenham, with the club having not competed in Europe’s premier club competition since the 2010-2011 season.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Lamela said:
“If at the end of the season we can look back and see Spurs in the top four that would be a great personal achievement and it would prove that the team has done a great job as well,” he said.
“I am very confident about the squad and the team we have at the moment. When we are playing at our top form we can take on any-one.”
