Tottenham qualified as Group J winners after comprehensively beating Monaco 4-1 at White Hart Lane, courtesy of Erik Lamela’s first hat-trick for the club.
Spurs fielded a much-changed team, with Josh Onomah making his first senior start for the club after making a number of substitute appearances in recent weeks.
Lamela’s first half hat-trick gave Spurs a commanding lead at half-time and whilst El-Shaarawy’s curling effort pulled a goal back for Monaco, they never threatened to come back and Tom Carroll’s first ever senior goal for Spurs secured the win for Spurs.
