Spurs target Boufal wants Champions League football

Lille midfielder and Tottenham transfer target Sofiane Boufal, has insisted that he would only leave the French side for the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

It has been reported in the Express , that the 22-year-old midfielder told France Football:

“I plan to go later in my career to a big European club that will play hopefully in the Champions League, in order to continue my progression,”

“Today there are rumours of names but for now I do not mind.”

“For now, I am very much in Lille and it is the ideal club for me.”

“It’s always the same. When you start to play well in matches then people talk a lot and there are rumours. It’s like that.”

“I try to move forward, improve efficiency, to have the best statistics, and then we’ll see (about the future).”

Bafoul, who has been a target for Spurs over the last two transfer windows, was linked with a summer move which would have seen Tottenham pay Lille £21 million before loaning the midfielder back to the French side for the rest of the season.

If Tottenham can secure Champions League football and Bafoul makes the move to North London, he would find himself in competition with the ever impressive Eric Dier and Dele Alli, as well as the rejuvenated Mousa Dembele.
