Milos Veljkovic set to leave Tottenham in January

Serbian defensive midfielder Milos Veljkovic is set to leave White Hart Lane in January, after he failed to agree terms on a new contract with Tottenham.

According to the Independent, talks between the player and the club have completely broken down, leaving Tottenham with little choice other than to sell him in the upcoming January transfer window rather than lose him on a free in the summer when his contract expires.

Veljkovic, who made his debut under Tim Sherwood in April 2014, has become frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities at White Hart Lane, after being shipped out on loan twice last season to Middlesborough and Charlton.

However, since his return to Spurs, the highly rated defensive midfielder who can also play at centre-back, has been a victim of the highly successful partnership of Eric Dier and Dele Alli who have both impressed and gained England call-ups as recognition for their performances.

Veljkovic, who represented Serbia at the U-20 World Cup last summer, is likely to find himself in the Bundesliga, where there is significant interest in him by the time the January transfer window closes.
