Kieran Gibbs late goal ensured that both sides left the Emirates with a point each after Harry Kane had put Spurs in front in the first-half.
A draw is perhaps fortunate for an Arsenal side who were second best for most of the game, as they were outplayed and outfought by a Spurs team who were trying to win at the Emirates for the first time since October 2010.
It was going to plan too, as Harry Kane put Tottenham in the first-half after a receiving a magnificent through ball from Danny Rose and slotted calmly past Petr Cech to give his side a deserved lead.
In the second half, Spurs should have perhaps extended their lead, as they enjoyed the most possession and the best chances, with Eriksen’s deflected effort just going wide of the post and Alderweireld should have done better with the header which went straight at Cech.
However, it would be Arsenal who would score the only goal of the second half, as Kieran Gibbs managed to bundle the ball in at the back post from Mesut Ozil’s cross to give Arsenal an underserved equalizer.
