Tottenham target Barcelona striker

Tottenham have set their sights on Sandro Ramírez for the January transfer window, according to Diario SPORT .

Ideally, Sandro would like to remain at Barcelona, but knows that he will not get a lot of playing time after January and going forward. The Catalan club has been strongly linked to the likes of Nolito and Andriy Yarmolenko as options to strengthen their line of forwards, which would leave little to no space for Sandro despite Luis Enrique’s constant rotations.

Born in the Canary Islands, Sandro left UD Las Palmas at the age of 14 in 2009 to join La Masia. He progressed quickly and began to be called up to Spain’s youth ranks in 2011. In total, Sandro has scored 19 goals in 24 games for Spain’s various youth levels.

Sandro rose to prominence last season along with Munir El Haddadi after Luis Enrique’s appointment as Barcelona manager. He scored 4 goals in 12 first team appearances, including one in the Champions League and a winner against Villarreal in La Liga. So far this season, Sandro has played 245 minutes, but has failed to get on the scoresheet.

A price-tag of 10m€ has been placed on the Canary goalscorer by the Catalan club. This would include a buy-back clause similar to the ones of Gerard Deulofeu at Everton and Adama Traore at Aston Villa.

Should he join Tottenham, Sandro will be one of the three senior strikers at the club alongside Harry Kane and Clinton N’jie. The Spanish striker can also play on either flank, something which he has had to do more often than not at the Camp Nou due to Messi, Neymar, and Suarez.
