Erik Lamela’s agent has said that Tottenham have no intentions of selling the player, following reports of an impending move to Porto.
Portugese media claimed on Monday that the 23-year-old – who arrived at White Hart Lane for £25m from Roma – was on the verge of signing for Julen Lopetegui’s side on loan.
Furthermore, there was suggestion that the deal included a clause which would allow the Portugese team to sign the Argentinian for as little as £5m next summer.
But the player’s agent – Pablo Sabbag – has since spoken to national newspaper O Jogo to quash the claims.
“There is no intention to transfer Erik,” he said in a brief statement.
Such news will be a relief to Spurs fans, who hope to see the player’s form improve after a dissapointing start to his North London career.
Since arriving in 2013, Lamela has made just 38 Premier League appearances and scored only two goals.
