Keane, Gerrard & Bradley out of All-Star game

Robbie Keane, Steven Gerrard and Michael Bradley have all pulled out the MLS All-Star squad due to face Tottenham on Wednesday evening.

L.A. Galaxy duo Gerrard and Keane were expected to be named in Pablo Masteroni’s starting XI for the fixture but have been forced to withdraw due to injury along with Toronto captain Bradley.

The nature of the injuries have not been specified, but the trio will join Frank Lampard on the sidelines after the former Chelsea and Manchester City star became the first player to drop out of the squad last week following a calf injury.

Despite the loss of several high-profile midfielders, Andrea Pirlo has not been called up to the side as a replacement following his transfer to New York City F.C. this summer.

Gerrard and Keane have been replaced by fellow Galaxy pair Juninho and Gyasi Zaredes, whilst Ethan Finley, Waylon Francis and Sam Cronin have also been called-up.
