Ceballos signs for Charlton

Spaniard Cristian Ceballos has signed for Championship Side Charlton Athletic following his release from the club this summer.

The 22-year-old signed from Spanish champions Barcelona in 2011, but despite impressing for the U21s and Reserve sides he never made the breakthrough to the White Hart Lane first-team.

In his first year at the club, he scored ten goals in 13 appearances for the Reserves and was duly rewarded with a place on the bench for a Carling Cup tie against Stoke City.

His goalscoring form continued into the 12/13 season, as a hat-trick against Southampton U21s and two goals against Liverpool U21s earnt him a loan move to Arouca the following season.

Ceballos made 17 first-team appearances for the Portugese club, scoring once, but he did not impress enough in his time there to earn an extension on his deal at White Hart Lane.

He becomes Addicks manager Guy Luzon’s fifth signing of the summer and will join up with former Spurs player Johnnie Jackson at The Valley.
