Kaka voted as MLS All-Star captain

World Cup and Champions League winner Kaka has been voted as captain of the MLS All-Stars for next week’s game with Tottenham – after fans used Snapchat to vote!

Over 13,000 supporters took to the video messaging application to have their say on who will wear the captain’s armband upon the visit of Mauricio Pochettino’s men on July 29 – with Orlando City’s Brazilian star winning the vote.

The winner was determined by how many ‘screenshots’ each player recieved on the MLS’s official story feed, with voters given the choice of Kaka, Michael Bradley, or former Spurs captain Robbie Keane.

Upon the announcement, the 33-year-old took to social media to offer a brief message of thanks to those that voted for him:

The former Milan player joined Orlando City at the beginning of this season and has scored nine goals in 19 appearances so far.

His side currently sit sixth in the Eastern Conference – just inside the play-off places.
