Alli scores in behind-closed-doors friendly

Dele Alli scored in his first outing for Spurs on Wednesday as they overcame Championship side Brentford 2-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

Signed from MK Dons in February, the 19-year-old scored the second penalty of the match, with fellow youngster Shaq Coulthirst having scored the first before Jermaine Udunga pulled one back for The Bees.

Alli joined Tottenham for £6m, but stayed at Stadium:mk for the remainder of the 2014/15, scoring 16 goals in 39 appearances as they earnt promotion to The Championship.

Summer signing Toby Alderweireled also played his first match for the club since joining from Atletico Madrid, playing alongside fellow new boys Kevin Wimmer and Kieran Trippier.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are next in action on July 29 when they travel to the US to face the MLS All-Stars.

They will then travel to Germany to play Real Madrid on August 3 and then either Bayern Munich or AC Milan the following day in the Audi Cup.
