Tottenham dealt massive blow in race for €100m striker

Tottenham Hotspur are crying out for some inspiration as they find themselves rooted to the bottom of the Premier League standings.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side are yet to win a game in the competition and have really struggled in front of goal, in particular.

Dom Solanke has been out of form and Richarlison will not play for Tottenham again, so it goes without saying that they could do well with another striker.

And now, if reports from Portugal are to be believed, they face a massive battle to sign Benfica’s Vangelis Pavlidis.

Benfica won’t sell Tottenham target Vangelis Pavlidis

The 27-year-old has been in fine form for club and country and has attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Tottenham.

However, A Bola confirm that Benfica have no intention of selling him in the near future as Marco Silva views him as an indispensable asset.

Pavlidis also has a release clause worth €100m in his current deal, so the Portuguese giants are in a fantastic position to retain their prized asset.

Pavlidis is undoubtedly a great player, but at that price, Tottenham are better off looking elsewhere for cheaper and younger alternatives.
