Tottenham make move sporting director after Fabrizio Romano confirms he’s leaving

Tottenham Hotspur were the busiest club in Europe over the course of the recently concluded summer transfer window.

Roberto De Zerbi‘s side signed as many as ten players, while a handful of others left permanently or on loan.

Johan Lange enjoyed a productive summer as sporting director and worked closely with the Italian and Vinai Venkatesham.

However, there have been reports that Tottenham remain on the lookout for another sporting director, with Sebastian Kehl linked earlier in the summer.

And now, it appears as if they want one of the most successful operators in Italy.

Tottenham want Piero Ausilio

Alfredo Pedulla reports that Piero Ausilio is on his way out of Inter Milan and is evaluating a couple of proposals, including one from Tottenham.

Fabrizio Romano didn’t confirm Tottenham’s interest but doubled down on claims that the Italian could leave the Serie A giants.

He wrote on X: “Inter director Piero Ausilio on the verge of leaving the club at the end of the current season.

“Clear feeling there are no right conditions to continue together after many years. Barring any last-minute surprise, it’s over.”

Inter have recruited really well and have been quite successful domestically as well as in Europe, thanks in no small part to Ausilio.

If Tottenham want him, they need to make a concrete move for him and get the deal over the line ASAP as clubs across Europe will be keeping a close eye on this one.
