‘Mandatory’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms conditions of €30m Tottenham transfer

Tottenham are expected to sign one or two more players before the transfer deadline, but a few departures are also expected to be confirmed.

The likes of Richarlison, Mikey Moore, Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr are expected to move on, be it permanently or on loan.

The Senegalese midfielder’s situation is an interesting one. Earlier today, we reported on Read Tottenham that Sarr will join Juventus on an initial loan deal that will become mandatory under certain conditions.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has provided more details on the matter.

Conditions for Pape Sarr’s permanent Tottenham departure

He wrote on X: “Juventus will pay €2m loan fee for Pape Matar Sarr plus €28m buy option clause.

“The option becomes mandatory if Juventus qualify to Europa League or UCL next season + Sarr reaches at least 50% of the appearances.”

Judging by his reporting, it does appear as if all options are open. Juventus pivoted to Sarr after pulling out of a deal to sign Franck Kessie, who has decided to return to Atalanta instead.

Sarr, for his part, wanted to remain in the Premier League but has decided to make the move to Turin, where he will try to get regular game time under his belt and make his loan move permanent.
