Tottenham Hotspur are set for an exciting end to the summer transfer market.
Despite splashing the cash on six recruits, the Lilywhites’ spending spree isn’t quite done yet.
We reported on Read Tottenham that an official bid has now been submitted for Savinho, who was left out of training today, allegedly due to an illness.
Cody Gakpo is another player who has been heavily linked with a move to N17, although Liverpool have thus far been unwilling to sell.
And now, reports from the Netherlands have confirmed that the Lilywhites have formally expressed their desire to sign the versatile Reds forward.
Tottenham make formal approach for Cody Gakpo
At this risk of jinxing it, it finally looks like Savinho’s move to North London will now happen after Tottenham’s monstrous bid earlier today.
The plan was to sign two attackers, so the Lilywhites will remain in the market for another signing even if they sign the Brazilian.
Our colleagues at Read Liverpool confirmed that Gakpo has a £72m price tag this summer, with the Reds set to use that money to sign other attacking players if the transfer goes through.
And now, Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof has confirmed that Tottenham have made a formal approach for the Liverpool man, as shown in the post above.
In another X post, he also confirmed that De Zerbi has different roles planned for Savinho and Gakpo, adding that the Dutchman is an ‘important’ target for Tottenham.
Things are finally moving along and the dream would be to get at least one signing sorted before the Premier League season opener vs Brentford.
