Barcelona have reportedly taken notice of Pedro Porro following his impressive performances for Spain at the World Cup.
The Tottenham right-back has scored twice across five tournament appearances. His link-up with Lamine Yamal has also caught the attention of Barcelona president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims Barcelona have followed Porro during Spain’s run to the final. However, the Catalan club have not made contact or formed concrete plans to pursue him.
Tottenham strengthened their position before the tournament by agreeing a new contract with Porro. The deal runs until June 2031 and includes an option for another season.
ESPN confirmed Porro’s new long-term Tottenham contract, which ended earlier speculation over his future.
Tottenham have no reason to consider Porro sale
Roberto De Zerbi views Porro as a central part of his plans. Tottenham pushed to secure the defender after previous interest from Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Porro has developed into one of Spurs’ most productive players since arriving from Sporting CP in 2023. He has registered 13 goals and 26 assists across 152 appearances.
His new contract gives Tottenham complete control over the situation. Barcelona are also prioritising other positions and already have several right-back options within Hansi Flick’s squad.
Porro’s performances may attract further admirers, especially if Spain win the World Cup. Tottenham can still dismiss any approach after making him one of their best-paid players.
The Barcelona link represents admiration rather than an active transfer pursuit. Spurs secured Porro’s future early and have no intention of weakening De Zerbi’s squad before the new campaign.
