Pedro Porro Scores As Spain Beat France To Reach World Cup Final

Pedro Porro scored Spain’s second goal as they beat France 2-0 in Dallas to reach the 2026 World Cup final, capping a Player of the Match display that extends a remarkable summer for the Tottenham full-back.

According to a fresh update from Sky Sports, Porro combined with Dani Olmo for a slick one-two before slotting past goalkeeper Mike Maignan in the 58th minute at AT&T Stadium, doubling Mikel Oyarzabal’s first-half penalty and sending Luis de la Fuente’s side through to Sunday’s final at MetLife Stadium. Tottenham Hotspur’s own website confirmed it was Porro’s second goal of the tournament, following his strike against Austria in the round of 32, and his first international goals on the World Cup stage.

Mikel Oyarzabal Opens The Scoring As Spain Reach First Final Since 2010

Oyarzabal’s 22nd-minute penalty, awarded after Lucas Digne caught Lamine Yamal, put Spain in control before Porro’s goal ended any lingering French resistance. Sofascore rated the Spurs man’s overall display at 8.1, the highest on the pitch, with three clearances, two tackles and an interception layered on top of the assist-turned-goal move with Olmo.

Spain will face the winner of Wednesday’s second semi-final between England and Argentina, a tie that already carries a Tottenham subplot with Djed Spence lining up for England against Spurs captain Cristian Romero and summer signing Marcos Senesi for Argentina, as detailed in Read Tottenham’s coverage of all four Spurs players reaching the last four.

For Roberto De Zerbi, the immediate concern is managing Porro’s workload before pre-season ramps up. Read Tottenham’s preview of his semi-final test against France flagged the fitness calculation a run to the final now sharpens, with the earliest Porro could report back to Hotspur Way pushed until after 19 July regardless of who lifts the trophy.
