Tottenham Transfer Briefing: Schjelderup, Torres And Neco Williams

Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up moves for two of the World Cup’s form attackers in Andreas Schjelderup and Ferran Torres, while also keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest full-back Neco Williams as Roberto De Zerbi continues reshaping his squad.

According to a fresh update from ESPN, citing Portuguese outlet A Bola, Tottenham are one of three Premier League clubs monitoring Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup after his performances at the World Cup, alongside Liverpool and Chelsea. The 22-year-old set up two goals for Erling Haaland as Norway beat Brazil before scoring a spectacular quarter-final goal against England, form that has pushed Benfica to raise their asking price.

Schjelderup’s Price Climbs While Torres And Williams Also Linked

The Hard Tackle reports that Benfica have lifted their valuation of Schjelderup from around €40m to at least €50m on the back of his tournament exploits, with the winger contracted until 2028 and carrying a €100m release clause. The site rates his one-versus-one ability and left-sided flexibility as a possible fit for Roberto De Zerbi’s possession-based approach, part of De Zerbi’s wider wing search this summer.

Spurs are also being linked with Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, with Fichajes reporting that Arsenal have now entered the race too. Barcelona reportedly value the 26-year-old at around €35m given he has just a year left on his contract, though Paris Saint-Germain are understood to hold an advantage in talks.

At the back, TEAMtalk reports that Tottenham have joined Manchester United and Newcastle in tracking Nottingham Forest right-back Neco Williams, whose versatility is seen as a potential option as Djed Spence’s long-term future at the club continues to be debated. Forest are said to be working on a new contract for Williams and are under no pressure to sell.
