Pedro Porro Signs New Tottenham Contract Until 2031 Amid Manchester City Links

Pedro Porro has reportedly signed a new long-term Tottenham Hotspur contract, with the Spanish right-back set to stay in north London until June 2031.

The agreement, reported by Fabrizio Romano, is said to include an option through to June 2032 and a salary rise for the 26-year-old. It comes after outside interest, including links with Manchester City, but the key point for Spurs is simple: Porro is being treated as a core player rather than a saleable asset.

Porro deal gives Tottenham clarity under Roberto De Zerbi

Porro joined Tottenham from Sporting CP in 2023 and has since passed 100 appearances for the club, becoming one of their most important attacking outlets from right-back.

Tottenham’s own player profile notes that Porro made 50 appearances in the 2024/25 season and played a major role in their Europa League-winning run, including goals against Eintracht Frankfurt and Bodo/Glimt.

For Roberto De Zerbi, tying him down removes a significant summer distraction. Spurs have already been active in reshaping the back line, but keeping Porro gives the new structure a proven Premier League operator on the right.

The contract update also shuts down any immediate City angle. Porro spent time on Manchester City’s books earlier in his career without making a senior appearance, but Romano reported that Tottenham never seriously opened the door to an exit.

That makes this less about speculation and more about control. Tottenham have moved to protect a key starter before the transfer market can turn him into another problem.
