Pedro Porro has become a key player under Roberto De Zerbi as Tottenham fight to avoid the drop.
As one of the senior players on the team, the Spanish international has shown his class in recent weeks, with Tottenham picking up eight points from their last four Premier League games.
De Zerbi’s arrival has breathed new life into the club, but it remains to be seen if it’s enough to keep all their star players after such an underhwhelming campaign.
And now, Porro has kept the door open for a potential transfer.
Porro coy on Tottenham future
Porro has made 150 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham since joining in 2023, which is a clear sign that he plays more often than not when fully fit.
He is also a key player for Luis de la Fuente’s Spain side and is expected to be named in the squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the summer.
In an interview with Spanish publication Cadena SER, the 26-year-old claimed his main aim is to save Tottenham from relegation and go to the World Cup, after which he will think about his future.
“On the one hand, we want the season to end, but on the other, we have to work until the very end. There’s no other option,” he said.

“We have to finish in the best way possible. It’s true that right now we’re two points above them and they play before us. Now anything goes. We have to consider everything. That’s the reality and everything counts.”
“Hopefully, that would be two pieces of good news. I already have enough on my plate without thinking about that now. The future is next week.”
Porro’s Real Madrid dream well documented
In an interview with Cadena SER (via Sport Witness) in March, Porro was asked directly about whether he could consider a move to Real Madrid.

“When you’re a kid, you dream about a lot of things,” he said.
“But day to day, I focus on my reality, and when you think about playing for the best teams in the world, you know you still have things to improve.”
The Spaniard’s dreams are very clear, but it goes without saying that he has been incredibly committed to Tottenham since joining the club in 2023.
If Tottenham manage to avoid the drop, they need to do whatever it takes to retain Porro, with the 26-year-old also integral to De Zerbi’s leadership group.
And who knows, if Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven both leave, Porro could well become Tottenham’s next club captain.
