At a glance:
- Van de Ven won’t support Arsenal
- Arsenal face West Ham today
- Game could have serious implications for Tottenham
Over the next 36 hours, Tottenham’s relegation picture is set to become a lot clearer with two important Premier League games set to be played in that period.
First is Arsenal’s showdown against West Ham United today in a game that could have serious implications at both ends of the table.
While the Hammers – like Tottenham – are fighting to secure their Premier League status – Mikel Arteta’s side are three wins away from sealing their first domestic crown in over 20 years.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side, meanwhile, are just a point above West Ham United and will take all the help they can before facing Leeds tomorrow.
Ahead of the game, stand-in Tottenham captain Micky van de Ven has made an interesting claim on whether he is rooting for arch-rivals Arsenal to win tomorrow.
Van de Ven won’t cheer for Arsenal
Tottenham don’t play until tomorrow night but will watch Arsenal’s clash against West Ham intently.

A win for the Gunners would take them within touching distance of the Premier League title, which isn’t ideal for their North London rivals.
However, a positive result for West Ham would mean the Hammers pick up valuable points in the relegation battle, which would affect their own hopes of staying up.
This is a bit of a double-edged sword for Tottenham. That said, Van de Ven says he won’t support Arsenal regardless of the Lilywhites’ precarious position in the league table.
“Yeah, I won’t be cheering on Arsenal to be honest,” said the Dutchman on the Premier League preview show.
“I know you say Arsenal can do us a massive favour, especially for themselves, because they’re playing for the Championship.
“They can do us a massive favour by winning against West Ham, and then hopefully we can get the three points against Leeds.”
Leeds a must-win game for Tottenham
Van de Ven is expected to start and captain Tottenham against Leeds tomorrow.
Daniel Farke’s side will be without Noah Okafor, who has been in fine form in 2026.

The North London outfit are coming on the back of successive Premier League wins and will look to make it count with another three points on the board.
However, they will surely have more than just one eye on the game today as there is a lot at stake for them.
As we mentioned earlier, the next 36 hours are going to be exhilarating to say the least.
