At a glance:
- Tottenham could sell Radu Dragusin

- Dragusin has interest from Italy and Germany
Tottenham Hotspur could have to make a major defensive overhaul this summer, even if they stay in the Premier League next season.
Spurs have had two poor seasons in the Premier League. They won the UEFA Europa League last season, but finished 17th in the league, while they are in a relegation battle this season.
Most of Tottenham’s squad has faced criticism from fans and pundits, especially their defenders. They have conceded 54 goals in 35 Premier League games this season, and hence, the team needs a big rebuild.
Radu Dragusin expected to leave Tottenham
One player who has failed to impress at Spurs is Radu Dragusin. The Romanian centre-back suffered an ACL injury last season and hence, has made just 47 appearances for Tottenham.
However, he hasn’t been able to compete with the likes of Cristian Romero and Kevin Danso for his place in the team.
Hence, the north London side could sell him this summer. According to Sports Boom, Tottenham are demanding around €28 million for Dragusin. They paid that fee to sign him from Genoa in January 2024, beating Bayern Munich to his signature.
AC Milan have been constantly linked with a move for Dragusin, while AS Roma and RB Leipzig are also interested. Leipzig could potentially make an initial bid of around €20 million in the summer. Meanwhile, Roma could also make an offer somewhere between €20-25 million.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs are open to selling him for a lower fee than €28 million. Dragusin’s agent revealed that they rejected a big offer from Saudi Arabia last month. He also revealed that RB Leipzig were interested in signing him in January as well.
Tottenham should sell Dragusin
The Romanian defender often had to play at Spurs with their B team during an injury crisis. He always stepped up last season, with the likes of Romero and Van de Ven injured. Ange Postecoglou also heaped praise on him last season, saying (h/t TBR Football):
“I just think him and Archie have been unbelievable for us considering the circumstances and we will get growth from that.”
However, looking at his performances, Dragusin has been disappointing in a Tottenham shirt. He is a good box defender, but has struggled in possession or while defending a high line. He is also just 24 and has yet to reach his peak.
However, Spurs have numerous young defenders like Luka Vuskovic, Kota Takai, and Jun’ai Byfield in their ranks. Hence, it would be best for both the club and Dragusin to part ways this summer.
