At a glance:
- De Zerbi defends Kevin Danso
- Defender made big error vs Brighton
- Swiss international will be at Tottenham next season
Tottenham’s game against Wolves tomorrow could make or break their Premier League campaign.
Anything other than three points at Molineux could be absolutely catastrophic in terms of the relegation battle.
With West Ham United already two points above them, they need to secure their first Premier League win of 2026 to leapfrog them, although the Hammers also face Everton at the same time.
Kevin Danso made a big error against Brighton as the points were shared at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week.
And now, Roberto De Zerbi has defended the Swiss international in his pre-match press conference.
Huge praise for Danso
Michael Dawson accused Danso of switching off as he failed to clear the ball in stoppage time.
Moments later, Jan Paul van Hecke got the ball and teed up Georginio Rutter, who made it 2-2.

Constructive criticism is obviously acceptable in professional sport. However, after the game, Danso was subjected to vile racist abuse on social media.
De Zerbi has hit out at the abuse, although he admitted that the Swiss defender is dealing with it in the best way possible.
“I was very annoyed by the racist insults towards Kevin, but he has to be calm and I am proud of him.
“He played a fantastic game. Not a good game, but a fantastic game. I don’t consider one mistake.
“He will be here next season because he is a good guy, a very good player and every one of us is lucky to work with him.”
Danso to start for Tottenham vs Wolves
With Cristian Romero out for the rest of the season with an MCL injury, Danso is expected to play alongside Micky van de Ven in defence.

As De Zerbi said, he played a really good game against Brighton, barring his mistake. He is also a superb character and has represented the club with utmost dignity and class since joining last January.
Tottenham need such characters in the team, more so during a relegation dog fight.
After the week he’s had, don’t be surprised if Danso responds with a massive display tomorrow. As we said earlier, we are all with you, Big Kev!
