Richarlison’s stoppage-time goal could be worth its weight in gold for Tottenham Hotspur as they secured a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
Igor Tudor finally has something to smile about, as his players delivered a spirited display despite being down to the bare bones due to injuries and suspensions.
Dominik Szoboszlai broke the deadlock with a free-kick as Liverpool took control of the game in the first half.
However, after the interval, Tottenham grew into the game and created a lot of chances as they finally pegged back through Richarlison late on.
And you could see what it meant to everyone involved at the club as the players shared a rather heartwarming moment with the away fans.
Tottenham players acknowledge terrific away crowd
Tudor opted to go with a 4-4-2 formation, with Richarlison and Dominic Solanke leading the line.
They showed a lot of fight and spirit, with the likes of Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso and Archie Gray, in particular, delivering standout displays.
Richarlison missed two glorious chances to score before stoppage time but saved his best for the last as he finished cleverly past Alisson Becker to give his side a priceless point.
Tottenham pushed for a winner and looked like they would get it as the Anfield crowd’s stunned silence eventually turned into anxious groans.
However, it wasn’t to be, although the away side won’t have too many complaints as they need to keep chipping away with points.

And after the game, every member of Tottenham’s matchday squad was spotted greeting the away fans, who were in full voice as they witnessed a fighting display.
Tottenham should keep Tudor
Things change so quickly in football, but this isn’t a knee-jerk reaction. Tottenham were waiting for a spirited showing like this and finally got it, so it would make no sense to pull the plug and start over.
They have a UEFA Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid in mid-week, but all the focus will be on the Premier League clash against fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest next week.
The two sides are separated by just one point in the table, making it a relegation six-pointer if there ever was one.
After the game, Pedro Porro claimed Tottenham are playing for Tudor, dismissing claims that they have downed tools.
Never say never in football, but it appears likely that the Croatian will keep his job for the time being.
And with Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Joao Palhinha, Conor Gallagher and potentially Destiny Udogie set to return for Forest, things are finally starting to look up for Tottenham.
