The horrifying statistical proof that Tottenham are sleepwalking into relegation

Tottenham Hotspur’s relegation fears were compounded yesterday after Nottingham Forest and West Ham United secured positive results in the Premier League.

While the Hammers secured an invaluable 1-0 win against Fulham – the same fixture Tottenham lost last weekend – Vitor Pereira’s side held Manchester City to a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

Both teams are now just a point below Spurs, although Igor Tudor’s side have a game in hand – which is a crucial Premier League clash against Crystal Palace later today.

To make matters worse, Tottenham’s defensive stats in 2026 have emerged on social media. And it’s safe to say it doesn’t make for good reading.

Tottenham’s defensive frailties laid bare

Tottenham are in their worst-run of form in nearly 32 years in the Premier League. They haven’t won a game in the competition in their last ten attempts as they remain the only winless side domestically in 2026.

Additionally, they have lost each of their two league games under Tudor, who was brought in to steady the ship and deliver results immediately.

After conceding four goals against Arsenal in the North London derby, Tottenham’s defense came under immense scrutiny. Against Fulham, that was once again the case as two goals in the first half essentially won the game for Marco Silva’s side.

A graphic has emerged from Sky Sports’ broadcast feed, which shows just how bad they have fared at the back.

In 2026, no team has lost more duels (562), committed more errors leading to shots or goals (15), or conceded a higher xG (17.6) than Tottenham.

In the same period, they are 18th for aerial duels won (49.2%) and 19th when it comes to errors leading directly to a goal (5), which is a clear sign that they are well and truly sleepwalking into relegation.

Rivals finding their stride

As mentioned earlier, teams below them have been on an upward trajectory, so the game against Palace later today could define the course of the club’s future.

Tudor dismissed talks of Tottenham getting relegated from the Premier League, but at this point in time, it’s more than just a mathematical possibility as they don’t look like they can buy themselves a win.

Their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash against Atletico Madrid is likely to be on the back burner as they need to get points on the board domestically to preserve their Premier League status.

Tottenham travel to Anfield to face Liverpool later in the month, while they also host Nottingham Forest at home in what is a relegation six-pointer if there ever was one.

Our intention isn’t to paint a grim picture of the situation, but to put it bluntly, the prospect of relegation is looming large at N17. And if their slippery slide continues with another defeat to Palace, alarm bells will begin to ring in North London like never before.
