Tottenham Hotspur fell to a damaging 2-1 defeat to Fulham to extend their winless run to ten games in the Premier League.

Igor Tudor’s side were far from their best – much like what was the case against Arsenal – and fell to yet another defeat away from home to remain 16th in the table.

Fears of relegation are undoubtedly growing and the new manager bounce that Tottenham hoped for with the Croatian’s arrival simply hasn’t happened.

And now, the interim boss has made a rather bold claim on whether Tottenham can actually drop down to the Championship.

Tudor makes bullish Tottenham relegation claim

After the loss to Arsenal, Tudor admitted that the Tottenham job was harder than expected as his players fell flat against the league leaders.

Against Fulham, that was the case once again as they went 2-0 behind in the first half courtesy of goals from Harry Wilson and Alex Iwobi.

Richarlison pulled one back and Spurs finished with a better sense of urgency, but over the course of the game, Fulham was largely the better side.

After the game, the former Juventus boss was quizzed directly about relegation, to which he gave a bullish response.

“We are just thinking about the next game,” said Tudor to Sky Sports via BBC.

“We don’t need to think about that [relegation] not because it cannot happen, but we must focus on growing mentality as a team, concentration, and physically. These are the only goals we must have.”

Tudor admits Fulham deserved to win

After going 2-0 up, Fulham fans were heard singing ‘This is why you’re going down’ as Tottenham once again looked lethargic while defending their own box.

In the aforementioned Sky Sports interview, Tudor claimed his players were comfortably second best in every aspect of the game, adding that Fulham deserved to secure all three points at Craven Cottage.

“We were not good, lacked everything. Attacking and defending. Fulham were much better.

“There are problems here, big problems. We need to stay calm, believe in what we are doing in training, and get out, staying all together.”

Tottenham take on Crystal Palace next, with the two sides separated by just two places in the Premier League table.

Oliver Glasner’s side have also been on a bit of a free fall in recent weeks, so the game presents them with a glorious opportunity to get some points on the board.
