It is fair to say that Mauricio Pochettino’s team selection in the first leg against Borussia Dortmund left many fans perplexed. The Argentine left out key players while the Germans fielded a full strength side with inevitable results.
Now the Lilywhites head into the second leg at White Hart Lane with a three goal deficit which will be a very tall order for the North Londoners against one of the strongest sides in Europe.
Nevertheless, coming off the back of a comfortable 2-0 victory at Villa Park on Sunday, the Spurs side should have a renewed sense of confidence as they continue to maintain their league title challenge.
If Pochettino’s team are to pull of a shock they will have to be stronger in midfield especially in the deeper areas where the Germans routinely cut through and troubled the back four.
With this in mind, here is a predicted XI for the match.
