Opposition corner: West Bromwich Albion

Spurs travel to The Hawthorns this weekend and we caught up with ReadWestBrom.com to find out what to expect from the Baggies.

1. How happy are you with WBA’s season so far?

If you’d of asked me two weeks ago it would have been a very different story to now. The last two results have seen my mood change drastically. A home win against Arsenal followed by a hard fought draw against West Ham away gives us a great base to kick on from. Hopefully this mini revival can continue and keep up my happiness!

2. What has Tony Pulis done that others haven’t, to steady the WBA ship?

Richard Heathcote/Getty Images Sport

Focus more on defence than attack. The fans will always crave good football but Pulis has stripped it back to its basics and made us difficult to break down. There comes a time when we’ll need to score more goals but at the moment he’s brining much needed stability.

3. What would be a good season for WBA?

Realistically we’re not going to crack the top 6 of the league. The top half has to be the main aim, if we can have a decent FA Cup run too, that would be nice.

4. Who is the best player at WBA and why?

Michael Regan/Getty Images Sport

Very good question. I wouldn’t say we have on standout star but we’re a very good team. If I was forced to pick one I’d have to go with Saido Berahino. He may not be in the best form this season but his 20 goals last season were so important for us and he has time on his side to be a top quality striker.

5. Which Spurs player would you like to have at WBA?

Clive Rose/Getty Images Sport

Christian Eriksen. He’s actually one of my favourite players in the league. He’s been underrated since he joined Spurs and I honestly believe he could walk into any side in the world. He’d also help give Albion the creative spark we’ve been missing.

6. What should Spurs look out for?

Our counter attack. As mentioned earlier, Pulis likes to defend and against big teams he’ll look to exploit them on the break.

7. What’s your thoughts on Spurs’ season?

I think they’ve looked very good. I don’t think they have enough to go for the title but a top 4 finish is a real possibility. There’s a great balance to the squad, I just think a lack of depth will stop you winning a trophy this year.

8. And finally, score prediction?

I’d love a draw, but I just can’t see it happening. I’ll go 2-1 Spurs with Kane, Eriksen and Berahino scoring.
