‘Massive worry’ – Chris Sutton tears into Tottenham and Roberto De Zerbi

It was another horrible Premier League afternoon for Tottenham Hotspur as they suffered a 3-2 loss at home against Aston Villa.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side were comfortably second best on the night and went three goals behind after Johan Manzambi, Nicolas Jackson and Emi Buendia got their names on the scoresheet for Unai Emery.

Conor Gallagher pulled one back late in the game and Jan Paul van Hecke scored his first goal for the club in stoppage time, but it proved to be too little too late for the home side as they fell to another defeat.

And now, Chris Sutton feels questions need to be asked of De Zerbi as the Lilywhites continue to underwhelm after splashing the cash in the summer transfer window.

Chris Sutton delivers grim Tottenham verdict

“When are we going to start talking about De Zerbi?” claimed Sutton via the BBC.

“They’ve spent north of £300m and you’d expect them to be better than they are. It’s a massive worry for Spurs fans.”

Tottenham only got going after the game was virtually done at 3-0, but the only silver lining is that they finally scored in the Premier League.

There weren’t too many other positives from the night, though, so Sutton’s claims are well warranted.

The Lilywhites are 18th heading into the international break as that familiar, sinking feeling starts to creep in once again….
