Tottenham suffered a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield as they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup.
The Lilywhites actually fared quite well on the night and the result could have been a lot different if their attackers were more clinical in front of goal.
Mohammed Kudus was guilty of missing a glorious chance to put Tottenham ahead in the first half, after which Alexis Mac Allister broke the deadlock for the hosts.
And despite the Ghanaian not recording a goal on the night, Roberto De Zerbi feels his injury return is great news for his side.
Roberto De Zerbi praises Tottenham attacker Mohammed Kudus
“Kudus is great news for us,” said De Zerbi via Football London.
“Because he can also play as a number 10. We can play with Savio, Kudus, Solanke and Marmoush.”
Kudus showed his class and was a constant thorne in the flesh of the Liverpool backline. He is capable of playing out wide and centrally, making him an intriguing option.
If both Kudus and James Maddison are back fully fit for Tottenham, then De Zerbi can have no excuses in the coming weeks as they are up there with the club’s best players.
