Tottenham’s chances of signing €40m attacker could be ruined by Arsenal legend

Tottenham Hotspur scrambled to sign attacking players during the back end of the summer transfer window.

After they got deals for Savio and Omar Marmoush over the line, the Lilywhites failed with a late effort to sign Iliman Ndiaye, who moved to Manchester City.

Mykhailo Mudryk joined on a loan deal until the end of the season and is already injured, while Richarlison has been omitted from their Premier League squad.

Caught Offside confirm that Tottenham are interested in signing Geny Catamo from Sporting CP, but it appears as if Como have already made contact for the talented attacker.

Cesc Fabregas could ruin Tottenham’s transfer plans

Catamo is valued at around €40m by the Portuguese giants and the report confirms that the Lilywhites have entered the race to secure his signature.

However, Como, led by former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, have already held preliminary talks with Catamo over a January transfer.

If Tottenham want to sign the 25-year-old – who can play on either wing – they will need to press ahead with their interest in the coming months as Como have already made their first move.

However, the Serie A side can offer him UEFA Champions League football, so it remains to be seen if that plays a part in terms of his decision-making.
