Tottenham Hotspur played out a drab 0-0 draw against Everton as their search for a Premier League win this season goes on.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side are yet to score a goal in the competition in over 360 minutes of football, which is another worrying stat.
Tottenham started well and had a few chances to score via Savio and Mateus Fernandes, but neither of the two summer signings was able to put the ball into the back of the net.
And now, Chris Sutton feels Roberto De Zerbi needs to take more responsibility for Tottenham’s form, recent struggles and their frailties in front of goal.
Chris Sutton slams Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi
“This is absolutely massive for Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi. First and foremost, though, he needs to take a bit of responsibility for his side’s poor results,” Sutton stated via the BBC.
“He blamed the Spurs strikers after their 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest, but at least he has got some in his squad. Spurs are a ‘law of averages’ team, or at least that’s the way I see it.
“Eventually they have to score and eventually they have to win too, but I don’t see both things happening this weekend.”
As we mentioned earlier, apart from their strong start, Tottenham didn’t look threatening at all as Everton walked away with a valuable point.
De Zerbi will certainly be feeling the heat and will hope his side responds against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup later this week.
