Tottenham Hotspur endured another lacklustre Premier League night under Roberto De Zerbi as they played out a 0-0 draw vs Everton.
The Lilywhites started the first half well but couldn’t convert their chances. And as the game went on, they didn’t impose themselves on their opponents as David Moyes’s side left with a well-deserved point.
Tottenham are winless in the Premier League this season and haven’t scored a goal in the competition, which is a worrying sign.
And now, Jamie Redknapp has opened up on what they are currently missing under De Zerbi.
Tottenham’s weaknesses pinpointed
“You’ve spent £350 million,” said Jamie Redknapp via the BBC after the game.
“One of football’s most expensive jigsaw puzzles, and it’s like you’ve opened up the box and there’s two pieces missing.
“It must be so frustrating for Roberto de Zerbi. You can see that he’s trying different things.
“Bringing on subs, rotating players into different positions, but nothing’s working and that must be so frustrating as a manager.”
De Zerbi tried a lot of things in the second half to find the elusive goal, throwing on all five substitutes. However, despite their best efforts, they couldn’t find the breakthrough.
The Lilywhites have a lot of good players, but they will surely take more time to gel with each other as the squad has essentially been overhauled.
