‘Didn’t trust’ – Roberto De Zerbi makes bold claim on Tottenham new signing

Tottenham Hotspur played out a 0-0 draw against Everton at home as they remain winless in the Premier League this season.

The Lilywhites have also failed to score a goal in the current campaign, carving out an unwanted piece of history in the process.

This is the first time in Premier League history Tottenham have gone four games at the start of the season without a goal, which is a worrying sign.

And now, Roberto De Zerbi claims the Tottenham attackers didn’t trust Andy Robertson’s crosses enough despite the Scotsman being one of their few bright sparks on the night.

De Zerbi says Tottenham players didn’t trust Robertson enough

“There is a word in Italian that literally translates as we unblock ourselves, said De Zerbi in his pre-match press conference.

“I think the team is incredibly strong and we can win games. We can find the goals with the quality of our players.

“The full-backs and their quality. Andy Robertson was very good today but we didn’t maybe trust his crosses enough.”

The former Liverpool player enjoyed his best performance for the club since joining on a free transfer in the summer. And he could well keep his place as Tottenham prepare to take on the Reds in the Carabao Cup next week.
